It's been quite awhile since I've made a decent image, and an even LONGER while since I've posted here. I swing by and lurk pretty much daily to get enough inspiration to keep dragging myself out of bed in the wee hours to go shoot, so I should say thanks for that.

This is Oceanside, Oregon taken a few weeks ago. I combined two exposures as I don't use grads, and this is what I ended up with. I'm very much up for any critique that comes my way, so if you have anything that is bothering you about the image, I'd love to hear suggestions.

Hi Cap'n Miles!

No changes or suggestions from me. Looks great!
Welcome back my friend. Good to see your lurking mug stepping into the light ...

Beers in the fridge, stay a while ...

Well, consider the drought over! This is really nice and would certainly qualify as something better than decent, IMO. I think your blend looks good and the FG water motion is strong enough to balance out the sea stacks. I just barely notice a tiny bit of a halo around the right-most stack, which might be worth addressing. I might also be tempted to burn down that white patch of water immediately below the middle stack (just a tiny bit). Nice image.

126 views and 2 comments? I'm confused, because this is great Miles. The wave action, perfect sea stack comp, and that great sky add up to this having it all. I love it.

Looks excellent! Great light and wave action captured here. Totally worth getting out of bed!

Thanks guys/gals! Jason, drat.... my tripod had shifted in the sand, so there was a little ghosting even after I auto-aligned the layers. I thought I had fixed it, so thanks for catching that. I will burn down that section you mentioned as well. I appreciate the help!

John, thanks for the nice compliment. I found your Adams meadow today. Quite a spot, and your image from there last fall is one of my favorite images of the Pacific NW. Truly an inspiration.

This is beautiful Miles. I really like the detail/motion you captured in the waves. I'm curious what your shutter speed was here for the foreground.

Hey Miles, great to see you posting on NPN! This image is great, hard to find anything wrong. The complimentary wave action you captured is what really makes this work for me.

Beautiful shot Miles. What intrigues me is the wave action. Processing looks great. Very nice. A real winner.

The only thing that bothers me about that shot is that I didn't take it! Excellent. :toast:

Sorry Scott.... I should have put that info into the opening comment. The shutter speed was 1/4 sec. I was going quite a bit longer, but I was so close to the water that I had to speed it up more than I usually do to get any detail at all. Cheers

Miles, great shot. The colors are wonderful, and the timing for the wave action is perfect. I do notice the subtle halo around the right rock. Other than that, this is a fantastic shot.

Gorgeous shot! I love the wave action and, of course, the color. You've got a bit of detail on the darker stacks and for me, that's all I really need.

The larger version really sings! Love the way you've compose the stacks across this image. I might prefer a slight reduction in the sat of the brightest yellows, but other than that this more than works for me. Great seascape!
