About midway up the trails to the Second Geraldine Lake in Jasper National Park, AB we spotted this Marmot watching us. He stayed with us over this particular rock scramble and he even posed to let us take some pics.

Nice pose, I like the OOF BG, helps to set the scene. Thanks for posting.

Nice BG and pose by your marmot. Maybe needs a touch of lightening around the eye. Probably looks fine in a bigger version.

Nice pose indeed Laura and the composition feels well balanced. You also handled the rather high angle of light well with enough shadow detail. The BG is nicely blurred, but if I were to look for nits I would argue that the white tree trunk in the BG growing out of the marmots back is a bit unfortunate. But that is real nit picking  .

PS: it can be useful if you would include some techs like shutterspeed, aperture, ISO, focal length, crop and equipment used. This can help people in providing you with more constructive feedback.

Without techs supplied it is hard to offer useful suggestions. The exposure looks good. If this is not already a large crop, I would remove some of the upper oof background, as it is not contributing to the composition.
