One memorable morning, the sand was damp from melted snowfall. IT was cold and beautiful

I like everything about this shot, except for one thing - the extreme wide angle. I think the foreground is too stretched out because of it and the background with the warm light too far away. Other than that, very nice.

This is an exapmle of the value of web galleries as a means of photographers to get together and "compare notes." I love the wide angle treatment of this, at least as I imagine it will appear in a larger file. The detail in the foreground along with the subdued light looks like a perfect setup for the spotlighted buttes in the background. I'm impressed that you managed such even fill with the flash, the faint shadow below the fence rail being the only indication of its use. This has been a difficult location for me to shoot, but your creative use of your equipment has turned out a fine shot.

I don't think it would have worked without the lens you selected. You would have lost the inverted "V", I think. Excellent shot. Nice colors, great lines, and I like the way the sand is overwhelming the fence. It holds my interest well.

Steve: I really like it. The depth is fantastic and this would make a fine print. I love the color. Very nice.

Thanks,
I tried to work the composition around and wanted the fence post to come out of the ll corner, but would have lost the lit cliff on the left. This was the best of the series with the sunlit cliffs and the fence. This does print out very well.
