Inverness Sunset

Sunset on Inverness Beach, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.... my favorite place. This was the only night I was able to witness the entire Inverness Light Show...... which is constantly changing and always amazing. The rocks were exposed this year (they were not last year nor the year before) I was able to get some different views this year. More to come......

Canon 5DM2
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II at 16mm
ISO100 0.7sec f/16
SR 3-Stop Reverse ND Gradient Filter

Thanks for looking and for your comments and critiques.

Charlie - I always use a tripod, cable release, and mirror up via live view (now). A very rare occasion I do not (usually just for snaps of family).

Another beautiful seascape from this area Eva, it looks like you will never run out of good images from this beach. I like the water motion and the sky is just striking. I like how you processed this, keeping the subtlety of colours, it looks very natural. If anything, I would perhaps brighten a bit the blue sky between the clouds, it seems like the grad line is still slightly visible up there.

You know, the light happens for you probably because you are you. When we're in love with something it responds to our affection, even if it's only us perceiving a response. It's there. Love this scene with all its textures and drama. Beach seems a little bright relative to the clouds, but as is it really brings out the water textures nicely.

Awesome, Eva. The outward flow of water in the foreground is really unique and lends a very nice design complementing the clouds. Beautiful work.

I like it a lot Eva. Great light and nice use of the reverse grad. I've yet to get any keepers with mine.
Greast shot, lots of drama. :toast:

Crikey!
Stunning seascape. Really nice movement in the water, and I feel the balance between ground/water and sky works well. Lovely tones.
Cheers

There's a great sense of motion that adds a dynamic to the image. I feel the clouds moving toward me and the surf moves away. Nicely done.

Love it. The ominous clouds, rocks, and streaming water all give this a sense of power, such as the north Atlantic likes to display.

Like Stan, and his dunes, you are going to have to consider a book on this beach. You, and only you have the portfolio to do it!

Eva, I like how the clouds seem to be moving overhead. Nice that you were able to catch the sun as it was going down, and providing some good color. Also like the leading lines of the creek. I agree with Chris, you could do a book on this place. Well done.

Thank you for commenting on the WP. Much appreciated.

The colours in this look superb Eva and I like the movement in the receding wave. The glow on the horizon also looks great.
