Fungus Amungus

Here's another from my recent trip to Acadia National Park in Maine. Sorry about the title, but there was more fungus fruiting in the park then I've ever seen anywhere at any other time.

For the most part the days were virtually cloudless except for one brief spell when some high clouds rolled in after sunrise providing some lovely diffuse light. I spent the morning exploring some woodlands along the park loop road and was captivated by this particular spot. There were lots of beautiful freshly fallen leaves on the ground which made for a great couple of hours of close-up photography.

No leaves were harmed in the making of this shot, but I did move a few

Gorgeous shot Kurt. The color is excellent. The arrangement does look a wee bit contrived, but that might just be because we photogs look for that sort of thing, but overall it looks very nice. Lots of great elements to enjoy and explore.

Way cool title and I love the comp, Kurt. This is a very pleasing palette of autumn colors. :toast: How did your shot of the sunset from the dock in Bass Harbor turn out?

Thanks folks!

Ed, I got some good ones on the pier at Bass Harbor, we even went back on our last night for some more. Here's one that I posted on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=167758803240815&set=a.104136952936334.8694.100000200885812

Great collection Kurt, the birch bark adds a really nice element! A tiny nit - I might move the small red leaf so it isn't mirroring the larger yellow one. It's the only example in the image and it throws me off a tiny bit.

Wonderful little forest collage. The birch bark and pine needles add interest and the image has a nice balance to it. :toast:

Nice mix of leaves and all the other stuff. The white bark is a great touch. Love the small red leaf on top of the yellow maple leaf. Nice one Kurt.

Lovely arrangement of elements Kurt. This kinds of comps I would rather view than any wide angle masterpiece, but heh thats me.

Well done and nice colors
