Sandy:
This is gorgeous. The contrast of the dark grapes against the warm wash around them and contrast of sharp and OOF elements are fabulous. Well done.

Really very nice contrast. This grape has also very good aromatic Tase. Did you try. Nicely done Sandy.

Wonderful use of the lensbaby Sandy. Perfect selective focus on the grapes. The OOF focus wash highlights the wine to come.

Beautiful work Sandy. As fine a Fall color palette as I've seen. Strong composition and excellent focal plane control with the lensbaby. Love the mood of the image.

Just gorgeous with that dreamy OOF look aroun dthe edges and the big bold colors. This inspires me to try and get a few pictures of the same before it's too late.

Beautiful Sandy. This is the first lensbaby composition that I can really relate to. I thought lens baby went right on the camera. ARGH! What do I know.
Anyway I like the composition and the very sharp leaf.
Well done.
Cheers,
Carol

Carol - you're right, of course - the lensbaby does go on the camera - I erroneously gave the exif date from a similar shot I posted in the CA forum a couple days ago. Thanks for catching this (that a 18-200 was not used) - corrected.

Sensational, Sandy! Really love the red wrapped around the grapes...perfect dof imo. Love it..I think you should print it large and sell to the winery where you shot it! By the time I get to Sonoma this late November, I'm afraid it won't be pretty like this!!!

I love the colors and comp. As to the effect of the lensbaby, I have mixed feelings. I guess I'd like to see the same beautiful grapes and leaves shot with less blur. Obviously, however, I am in the minority (of one, actually), and I do find the image and effect both interesting and artistic.

Scott, a similar "straight" shot is in the Califonia forum:
That may be more to your taste - and don't ever worry about being in the minority!

Oh, Sandy! This is most excellent! A great comp and colors are made quite extraordinary with your (already) expert use of the Lensbaby. I'm curious about which aperature ring you used.

Sandy, This shot is a stunner! I had a similar idea for a calendar that I am shooting. Unfortunately, I did not succeed yet. Yours is even better than what I had envisioned! I am jealous of the red grape leaves. The concord grapes here on the east coast have yellow leaves in the fall. This shot is inspiring me to try again next fall! Thank you for the inspiration!
