Hi Richard,
This is a really nice shot of a ground squirrel in its chosen habitat. Both image sizes look very sharp and I quite like the in-focus foreground. My only wish for this image (and it might be something that simply wasn't possible in the field) is a slightly softer (i.e., more out-of-focus) background. I do realize that opening up more to do this may have blurred the foreground as well (a negative from my perspective)...
Cheers...thanks for sharing this...
PS: I wouldn't be surprised if you receive some comments re: the "distractions" caused by the out-of-focus white flowers in the background (and they may well be legitimate comments) and the suggestion to clone them out. Personally they don't bother me (and I wouldn't remove them).

A lovely habitat shot Richard. It is a good thing you positioned in such way that the head of the squirrel remained below the dark horizontal band in the distant BG. Looking forward to more Arctic squirrel shots (I just love squirrels )

Nice photo. I like the natural colors and the detail you captured in the squirrel. I like the habitat, the flowers, and your comp.

Nice looking squirrel. I like the varying layers of OOF BG here.
