Up the Creek

On our trip home recently from the south we passed this setting in southern BC. As we came around the bend in the road there was such a pop of colour with sandstone cliffs in the background that I thought I should stop and take a few shots. I was an otherwise dreary day with rain on and off.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by for a look.

As always your thoughts and comments are welcome and appreciated.

Mark,

I just watched the Clint Eastwood movie "Pale Rider" last night and this scene reminds so much of what perhaps could have been a spot for a gold mining town to break out...

Great color and I like the uniqueness of the sandstone cliffs behind. As much as I would hate to lose the tops of the formations, I think this may be stronger if you cropped it down just enough to eliminate the sky all together. It's not adding to the scene other than to perhaps show the height of the cliffs. And with that, I might recommend burning down the water too and possibly cloning out the intruding branch in the LLC. I think with a couple of tweaks this could be much improved and the focus on the fall colors would be more emphasized.

Thanks for the comments Lon, I asked myself the same thing as I was preparing to post this image...and of course I decided to leave the sky in. It was a 50/50 thing. I will keep that in mind for the next time. Thanks.

My thought same as Lon's. Cropping the sky makes a stronger image.
