Stellar shot Rich! What little reds there were up there, you certainly caught it just right. I love this style of imaging. Very graphic and it really fills the frame with patterns and great design. I shot several similar comps from 2008 up there. Great meeting up with you and Ian. Be well. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Thats some wild looking Birch. The red leaves and the white trunks look great together. You have added some nice mystery to the image my adding some softness which I really like. Nice work Richard.

I love twisted photos. This is right up my alley.
I'd prefer it less "soft".
None-the-less, a very nice image.

This is superb Richard! Great comp and beautiful color - what more can you ask for?

PS - I love the soft look - I'm sure I would like the "regular" look too though.

Lovely image, Richard. My personal preference is for less of the Orton effect, but that is just me. I do like the way the white trunk stands out against the red foliage, and I think it would benefit from more detail in all the twisted limbs by decreasing that softness.

A wonderful composition with the birch and darker background. My perference would be to see more detail, it just depends on what you were trying convey (a moody vs detail setting) but overall it is a captivatng scene that draws you in, well seen.

Even when nature is chaotic, it's still beautiful.
Great colors, lines, and textures.

Richaard - Remind me of the biblical burning bush. Great contrast of colors. This would be an impressive large print for a wall! The more subtle detrail on the bottom is nicely mixed with the more complex detail above. Wonderful shot.

I like the comp, the gnarling branches really hold my attention and the red leaves provide great contrast. It feels a little over-Ortonized at this size. Checked out the larger version but it was the same size. My preference might be towards a warmer presentation. WB is one of those fungible things that can be quite personal, so, of course, go with what you feel works best.

Can't add anything new to the previous comments :) Fully agree with them.
The only thing I would perhaps look at is the main part of that Birch is a bit too bright (only to me:) Perhaps if you would burn it a bit.
Anyway, I am impressed by the softness, colour and the effect of it all :))

Love this, kind of has a halloween, day of the dead feel to it. I do like the soft look but I think it could maybe be toned down a bit (if that's possible)?

Love the contrast of the red leaves against the birch, and the composition comes across as well thought out. The Orton effect is coming across too strong for my personal tastes.

I'd vote for less blur as well, but love everything else about this. The arrangement of red bottom and gray top with the branch lines between is very attractive. Well seen!

Cool image... ordered chaos reigns supreme. The reds of the leaves are sublime. I am on the fence with the amount of orton effect, but maybe it's just the web version playing tricks with my mind. Overall, I really like this moody image.

If I'm not mistaken the red leaves are blueberry bushes. They are quite striking but when I see them there is never anything to go with them but the birch is perfect. I'm guessing the added Orton is to downplay the busy twigs at the top and I don't find it objectionalble at all.
