Controlled grassfire (E, W, F & W)

I posted another version of this fire some time ago but thought it fit with the latest theme. This was a controlled fire on some local CRP grassland shot from the beach of our lake property. The fellow that owns the land was pretty pleased when I gave him prints of a couple of the images. He said these burns are done about every three years.

Cool image Keith and it really fits the theme this week. I especially like the reflection of the fire in the water.

This is stunning and powerful Keith. The sweep of the flames and smoke gives it a powerful, yet frightening "majesty" against the silhouettes. Though it's a controlled burn, it captures "wild fire" as well. In fact, it reminds me a little too much of nights on the fire lines of my youth!

Exceptionally well done, Keith. I could stare mesmerized at the tree silhouettes.

Cheers,

Carol

Congrats on the EP, this is truly beautiful... a real healthy palette of colors and you can really feel the intensity of the fire. Not to mention, it couldn't have fit the theme better.

I love the color contrasts here Keith! Your frame within the frame is excellent too! I can feal the heat and hear the roar of the fire too! Excellent work!
