The Wrath

This image was taken on my way back from Banff last week. I watched this weather system move in while I was taking some pictures around Vermillion Lakes and thought I should start making my way home. By the time I got into Canmore...only 15 mins later all hell broke with the weather. There was a full out snowstorm for about 10 mins and when the snow stopped the cloud deck was almost on the ground. Small openings in the clouds let some sunlight in on occasion. My main intent here was to show just how volatile (and cold) the weather conditions can be. One of the most used comments in Alberta with regards to the weather is "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 mins....or look out a different window." It was quite a system to see.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by for a look.

As always your thoughts and comments are welcome and appreciated.

Very dramatic...really like the light, colors and contrast in the sky.
