Morning Sunlight

This is an experiment with recently purchased Helicon Focus software. I haven't even read the "How to" part yet, so experimental at best. I found a few dahlia subjects from last month shoots that had several image aperatures and picked a stack of 5 here to play with. Thanks for your suggestions and comments.

Beautiful color and fine light Craig. Also an interesting composition - particularly you're approach to dof for the subject. In many respects this strikes me as being an avian image but without the bird. The stack looks good to me as does the image.

I'll be interested in what you think of stacking after doing it for a while.

Craig you're going to have so much fun

Lovely colors and your main subject and the buds to the right look great.

IMO, the OOF FG flower is hogging the show rather than framing your subject.

Have fun learning to focus stack.

Cheers,

Carol

Still nailing the Dahlias I see. Without the OOF fg this one would be absolutely killer. Great light and nice job on the stack, but that fg just blocks too much of what I want to see.

Craig: The light on the main subject is just superb. I am bothered a bit by the FG bloom but it's not a shot killer for me. You're doing a great job with these flowers. :toast: >=))>

Excellent job in the brighter light! Great color and the dof works well.

Craig, The main bloom is just superbly rendered. The only thing that does not sit well in the frame for me is the OOF portions in the foreground. Suggest a reshoot if you still have access to this flower.

Craig:
The focused bloom is crazy good. The OOF fg is slightly distracting. Have not use Helicon myself but Interesting to hear you are using various apertures to do the stack rather than different focus plane with the same aperture - seems to work though.
