Pleasant photo. As the railway is a rather dominant element, this would be better suited to the Man & Nature gallery.

I love the light and atmosphere. I might try cropping a bit off of the left side as i find the few stray branches poking into the frame a bit distracting. Otherwise, I think the composition is very strong.

Great Job:)

Paul,

What a grand scenic - would make for a fabulous travel piece, brochure, postcard... you name it. Also reminds me of the area just outside Denali where the railroad also runs through. Love the clouds, the light and your composition.

Hopefully this makes sense, but I'm going to move this to the Man & Nature Gallery after posting my comments. While the railroad tracks aren't the biggest part of the scene, they are quite significant in the story and presentation of the scene. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop one of the moderators a note.

thanks for sharing.

Just a lovely comp Paul, and a beautiful scene indeed!! Only nit, wish the trees were a bit sharper, and that's about it.

Very nice as is, but a well timed train would have really put this over the top!

I can so easily imagine coming around the curve by car or train and having my jaw drop open. What a great vantage point you picked for this fabulous scene. Weather in the mountains, river, tracks, forest, comp, light– this image has got everything! Congrats on the EP!

Wonderful clouds!
I got a shot from this exact spot a couple years ago - no clouds, but still good color. Like this much more!
Congrats on a nice EP!

Love the light and clouds in this Paul. I think someone got an EP in this same location last year with the inclusion of a train passing by. Certainly is a winning location!

Love the light and the clouds. I have waited here (Morant's curve) several times for a train, with some success but never with such a sweet light. Well done.
