Surprise, did not think it was me when you first looked at the thumbnail, did you. Well, a bit of a change up for me. Not much is flying right now, but the yellowthroats were pretty active, so I took the opportunity to add a few images of this species to my files. A young female if I am not mistaken. It was very windy so I kept the SS up. Please view the larger version for max details.

Gorgeous. Love the light that makes the yellow glow. Beautiful feather details.

Fine colors, detail and pose, Ron. My only nit is that the bird's feet are almost completely hidden by OOF vegetation. The OOF bunch on the RHS is ok: it provides more depth to the image. However, I'm not so sure about that bunch beneath the bird. I wonder if a little more DOF to include more of that bunch would have improved the image. Anyway, it's only a nit: very fine image as usual, Ron. :toast:

Ron, only nit here is tightness on the bottom. Plenty sharp with good colors - nice to see you post something other than a BBWD  just kidding.

Luke, I have more room on the bottom, but I cropped it like this because the feet are above the bottom on the frame, but by cropping where I did it gives the bird "something to stand on." Worked for me. As far as BBWDs go, actually, I have posted a lot more mottled ducks than BBWD since mid-August. Hey, you take advantage of what is there when it is there and post the best you have. At least that is what I do. Cheers.

Nicely done Ron, nice detail. I too wish for a bit more room at the bottom, but as you say, you have it, and it's just a matter of personal preference. :toast:

I like the repost Ron, the original was a bit too close to the bottom for me. Great detail with good coloration in the bird. Good job

Great to see this kind of shot from you Ron - yes, it did surprise me. Sharpness, detail and exposure all look good and the colors seem accurate. A fine image. Regarding comp - I prefer your repost because it gives more room for the feet and because of the direction the warbler is looking so intensely.

Ron,

I like both versions but prefer the second with more room for the feet. I might have tried more dof to get the vegetation more in focus, but I feel this works for me too. Beautiful light, pose, details & sharpness. I'd be happy to have this in my files.
