Here’s another shot from the old beaver pond, before the rains hit the Adirondacks. Autumn leaves are still just a backdrop here, but a stronger one than in my previous post.

Canon 50D
Sigma 17-70mm. f/2.8; Circ. Pol.
1/10 sec. @ f/14; ISO 200 (a little breeze)
Tripod; Mirror up via LCD focusing; 2-sec. timer

Hi Wayne, I like the detail, and especially like how the foreground stump helps lead the eye back into the image, past what looks like a Beaver's lodge, and on to the evergreens, and finally to the fall colors. And since the FG grasses echo the autumn colors, this too helps direct the eye through the image.

Nice job.

Cheers,

Carol

Excellent Wayne. I love the colors, but what really attracts me is the carefully crafted composition. A fine image!

Georgous Wayne! The colors are stunning. I like how all the elements work together to pull my eye through the entire frame!

Simply a beautiful autumn landscape Wayne. The colors up top are spectacular, but I'm really enjoying how they simply accent the scene rather than take it over. It's so easy to enjoy everything in this scene from the weathered stump, to the beaver hotel to the evergreens and on up in to the color. Just a beautifully crafted image.

Wow, the colors are spectacular, Wayne. I hope you got a pano of just the pines and the colors behind, as that is where my eye wants to be. Regardless, I enjoy this image a lot. :toast:

Fantastic Wayne. Love the stump in the foreground, the old beaver lodge and grasses with the autumn-splendor background. So many, me included, would have just gone after the autumn colors in the trees and missed the beauty of this old beaver pond that you have presented in a superb manner. Outstanding work.

This shot says a lot, actually. The beaver lodge looks deserted, and no wonder with no water to speak of in the pond. I wonder if the deluge you all have had has refilled there home?
Great color and comp!
