The Rock

Went out last week all excited to shoot with my new D700 and Nikkor 16-35 f4 ED VR(What an awesome combo). Anyway, just curious about this comp. I would have liked a little more space in the frame but that wasn't possible with other rocks around.

Large posted as well

Nikkor 16-35mm f4G ED VR

I like the light but agree with needing/wanting a little more space. That is a cool looking rock though!

Hi Jonathan, Congratulations on the new gear. Love the colors but think the crop is a bit tight. Maybe including some of those other rocks might not have been so bad.

Cheers,

Carol

How unique! I really like this. I agree about the crowding at the bottom edge, but we work with what we get. How big is this? It looks huge, like something from the game Myst.

(And, I'm jealous of your combo  )

Beautiful contrast with the blue and orange sky. As you already mentioned you had some space issues when working with this. I too would like to see more room around this giant rock but sometimes you just have to work with what you have.
