While out in the meadow one evening looking for something to photograph with my (then) new macro lens, I found this strange sight.

The snail must have climbed just a little bit too far and was out on a limb, literally

I didn't notice the other insect on the right until I saw the image on my PC later.

Minolta Dynax 7D
Sigma 70-300 super macro 2 (a very cheap lens)
1/500th sec
f8
ISO 100
200mm
-0.3 stop exposure compensation
Centre-weighted metering
Tripod
Cable release
Full frame (no pixels were harmed in the making of this picture)

Nice find, Geoffrey. Love the BG. My only nit would be that the snail is a little low in the comp. If you had (and we know you don't) more pixels available then you'd be able to add some all around. :wavey:

Geoffrey:
A very nice take on the grass with the snail and insect. It is exciting to find unexpected critters on the image. The BG is nice an clean.

I like the comp as is, snail hanging near the bottom.
Nice colors and detail.
