G'day all, Simon and I had a wonderful week camping in central NSW. Will process the shots over the next few weeks. Here's another of the pipit when it decided to land on something other than a shiny new fence.

cheers

My kind of bird - I love pipits. I didn't know about this species of pipit - cleaner whites and stronger streaking than our American Pipit. Very nice detail.

This really works for me Rob. Love the habitat, those long needles and green coloration contrast beautifully with the white and beige of the Pipit. Great heads up pose! Normally the bird would be too centered, but the way the supporting habitat wraps around negates that entirely. :toast: :toast:

Beautiful Rob. Love the pirch. Sure beats the heck out of a fence. Nice details too. Very soft light. Looks like you had a nice overcast day to shoot these. Loking forward to more of these Rob. Way to go.

Nicely done Rob, a fine setting for your bird, I had similar problems with a pipit and a barbed wire fence a little while back, didn't manage to get a shot away from the fence.

Another very appealing image Rob. Love the comp, BG, and detail. Nice DOF and great plumage patterns on this species. Well done as usual.

Rob,

Your pipits look as beautiful as ours do here, I thoroughly enjoy their subtle beauty. Lovely detail, setting, pose and sharpness. The comp at first seemed a little too centered to me, but I realized you wanted to keep that one vertical bit of the australian pine at the right side of the image, so I like the comp afterall.

Very nice bird and even nicer perch. That is an interesting plant. Nice details in both bird and perch. Great light and background.

Excellent setting and the diffuse light has bought out the plumage really well.

A strong image Rob. The pipit looks great and I love the setting and background. The perch reminds me of Ephedra (Mormon tea), one of the common plants of our high western deserts.
