Fleeting glimpse

Haven't posted to this gallery before since I not really a bird shooter. However, I kinda like this one. What do you think? This mallard was in a shaded pond where a shaft of light broke through the clouds and the overhanging tree leaves. I was getting too close and the mallard turned to leave.

Bob,
I like how the light hits the mallard. He seems to me floating in a black ink pond.
IMO a more head turn and the eye contact would make the image stronger. Overall a very nice capture.

I like the concept here Bob. The side lighting and dark water/BG work well. Just need a head turn toward the camera for me. But that is just me.

Others have mentioned the head turn, but I do like the light and idea here. Sharon
