Awesome shot, Gary! The red Crimson and the yellow perch really pop out from the dark background. Congrats!

Gorgeous colors, comp and detail, Gary. I especially like the way the colors in the near side hind wing match those of the perch.

Great colors combined with a clean smooth BG. With the season coming to a close I think I'm safe in saying you deserve the title as "Dragonfly King" this summer. Very well done on this image and the rest of your DF collection.

Great shot, Gary. The colours combination of the DF, the perch and the BG is superb. The effect on the wings is wonderful.

The yellow on the hindwing is reflected from the flower.

Yes, it has been a great dragonfly season this summer. My dragonfly images improved vastly after I bought the 300mmF4 lens which allowed me to get closer to them which I would not be able to otherwise as most of the shots were in public parks with confined walkways and broadwalks.

Great color contrast and excellent sharpness on the Crimson dropwing make this photo a winner.
