Lava
by Tom Dobrzanski
I'm a new kid on the block here so I wasn't sure how to start...then I though I'll better post 'something' so:
I started photography not so long ago by a complete accident rather than a plan. I am still in the process of looking for my "style". I'm impressed mostly by lanscape painters, and each image that "talks" to me. I'm still weak in composition.
That idea for the photo was cruising in my head for some time. Then, I finally got everything I needed and I send myself off to do it.
I will paste the location link below so you can see where it has been taken.
I'm sure that all the "kit" and exiff info matter here but if you would like to know I'll post it.
At night, with complete dark around I sneaked out and coloured with a bright, narrow pointing torch the rocks around the water. The I placed a red plastic filter on the torch, put it on a stick and I was trying to make that ghostly water red to get what I wanted.
I did a bit of post production but not with layers just blacks, shadows etc. Nothing serious.
Would love to know what you think and how does it look for you.

This is about my tenth visit to this image... I don't do that often. I usually look, post a comment, or not. But, this is an image that made me think... go away... think about it some more... then come back.
I don't know if this should be in Photo Art... I'm not sure where it should be.... But, I really like it... I really like it! There is a great amount of mystery in the image. Wonderful detail and color. Welcome to NPN. You'll find this a great site to get kudo's plus real critiques without a lot of emotional baggage. The folks here give honest evaluation without the drama. Show us more...
