Rainy Pass Color

Thanks for the comments on my last post. Yeah the 200kb version was oversharpened. I think the processing on this one is better.
This is a small pool near Rainy Pass, North Cascades NP. Cropped out an algae pad at the btm of the frame and just couldn't resist bumping the reds up a little. Too much? Also changed my workflow. Doing less sharpening in ACR. Seems like I have more control in the editor. Anyway, shot this mid-afternoon last weekend as a cloud passed overhead. Comments appreciated, thanks for looking. Larger version included.

Nice pleasant scene. The colors are very soft. Nice image.

Very pretty Bruce. Looking at the thumbnail I didn't think I would be very impressed, but happily, this and the larger version proved me wrong. Excellent color, and I love the detail in the trees. Nicely done.

Hi Bruce,

I am glad you provided a large version of this image, it is much better. I like the shapes and colors of the trees and brush. It is a pleasant, relaxing scene. My only nit is the foreground feels a bit empty. Overall well seen!

A nice mix of tone and textures. I'd be tempted to crop some more of the foreground, leaving just enough to ground the image.

Bruce,

I'm really liking this one. Despite your thought of bumping the reds, I think the autumn references are subtle and lovely. I like this just as presented with no nits and I even think the dead branches in the trees help break up evergreens. This is quite lovely.

There's a nice style in this, Bruce. It's not overly complex, but still nicely presented.
