No, it's not New Mexico but Sequoia National Park, CA.
Recently taken during a 6 day/5 night backpacking trip in the High Sierra.

The story behind this image including all technical information is available on my blog.

A large version is included so you can see the detail in the waterfall.

All comments & suggestions are greatly appreciated. This image will be printed large so your input is valuable. Thank you!

Very impressive scene. You handled the dynamic range well. I also like the combination of water blur but sharp clouds. Well executed all around. It should look great large.

Love the comp, really has that high Sierra feel to it. Processing is a little conservative for my taste - but that's just personal preference. Would love to see the large print!

I can definitely see this as a large print, Michael. I like the colors and I like the comp. The water looks really nice to me, and I can't get enough blue sky with nice white clouds in images like this. I think this looks very good.

Well seen and captured Michael. This works very nicely, especially since it looks like it was out of the Golden Hours.

This is beautiful but is there just too much for one picture? I am a simple man, and I get a little confused with everything that is happening in the image

This is real nice, Michael--no flowers, no pretty sunset, just good old fashioned decent light and composition. :toast:

Michael,

Excellent High Sierra image! Somehow it feels tight, yet all the elements are beautifully balanced and all is well. And this isn't meant as a negative, but this even has a look of film about it - say KR64? Ya know, the stuff we used to use before that product called Velvia came out. In the end, I have to say your processing is excellent here! A beautiful and well crafted scene.

What a grand image, Michael! From the color to the formations, I like
everything about it. Good shutter speed on the water. I'm glad that
you included this beautiful sky.
