Floating Wildflower

Shot this a few weeks back while hiking in Mt Rainier NP. I think it's the same flower that Mohammad posted recently; a different color obviously. A straight on composition allowing the larger aperture. I was trying to get the stem to disappear into the bg. Seems to have worked.
Significant WB adjustment to bring up the lavender petals as they were seen. It was breezy so I had to crank up the ISO to get the necessary shutter speed. Cropped square. Thanks for looking.

Very nice. The OOF bg is lovely, but it could use a little noise reduction, or more than already applied.

Very nice Bruce. Perfect dof decision. I'm not seeing noise on my MacBook Pro 17 inch monitor. Love the comp and the pov. Outstanding image.

This may be Alpine Aster but an Aster for sure. Perfect choice for a centered composition. The yellow center looks highly attractive being in the vicinity of its complementary color Purple

A most appealing floating wildflower, Bruce.

If you shot at ISO 1250, I'm sure there's noise but I don't see it in this image.

A lovely posting.

Cheers,

Carol

Love the title  surely looks like one
This is definitely from the aster family, we have a few of them here in India & they are a pleasure to gaze & shoot :)

Outstanding image, Bruce! Your DOF decision worked out very nicely for this shot. I also like the centered composition a lot. The detail in the center is also pretty good.

Outstanding image. I like the 'disruption' to the symmetry at 9 and 12 o'clock. :toast:

Outstanding capture, the colors are so soft and vibrant. It really does appear to be floating above the great BG. Beautiful work!

Great 'Top Down' comp Bruce. Very nice sharpness. Well done!

I agree with Phillip that a bit more noise reduction could be helpful.

Bruce: I might like this cropped a bit tighter but I love the color palette and your DOF/plane of focus management. Very well done.>=))>
