This Road Runner zoomed by in front of me. A quick reaction and good luck paid off.

Taken at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge

Looks like your panning was close to perfect - nice effect. Colors are a bit strange, though.

Where was this taken?

Lookds great to me - head and eye in perfect focus and excellent panning to blur the ground and feet.

Wile must've been close behind.
Good reaction shot, John. The blurred legs and bg from panning make this a real action shot.

Hi John,
Good job to even get this guy in the frame. The head looks fairly sharp. Definetly a great sense of motion you have captured.

Very cool John! Great impression of the speed of the bird, and sharp where it needs to be. :toast:

Oooh! Oooh, a Road Runner running. Maybe a photoshop action blur? Like just the same...

Thanks for your feedback.

David: This picture was taken by panning. The motion blur was not created in Photoshop.

This made me laugh, the motion blur is great, especially with this species. I might lighten the darks of the bird selectively a bit, then I think some of the warmer tones would shine through. Neat image.
