Escorting danger away

This photo was taken 6 seconds after the last photo I posted in this gallery (rearing loon). The loon surfaced next to a family of ducks and the two adult ducks "escorted" it away from their young.

The photo is taken with a Canon EOS Rebel XTi, 1/1000s, f/5.6, ISO 800, focal length 300mm.

I am open to any suggestions people have for cropping, technique, etc.

Very cool action, Jan and I like the light on the loon. I might be tempted to crop a bit off the bottom and just a touch off the right. Very nice catch. :toast:

Good story here, Jan, both visually and in text. You might do something with the hotspots under the wing, though.

Neat action here Jan. The bird in the BG really does not add much for me and the low angle of the loon makes me think a pano type crop would work well for this. The main issue I see is dealing with the over bright whites under the wing and on the flanks of the loon. I would work on bringing those down if this were my image.
