Lichen Art

I took this picture of grey and orange lichen because I loved the colours and textures, especially the orange. I like this one because of the fireworks-like effect and the balance between the orange "splashes".

It was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel XTi, 1/100s, f/6.3, ISO 400, focal length 18mm. I don't have a macro lens but I hope to have one at some point because I'm sure I would have fun with it.

Comments and suggestions on any aspect of the photo are appreciated.

Jan, I love the colors and circular patterns you have captured.

I would suggest a slight crop from the right so the image is more balanced.

A lovely abstract design.

And BTW, welcome to NPN and Macro.

Nice fine and capture. The contrast is really striking and the pattern and textures are interesting. Welcome to NPN and look forward to see more.

Nice contrast and a good capture... My tiny nit is that the comp is not evenly lit.. I would like to see a bit more light on the left side as well.. But that aside, this is quite striking.
