Fishing Sunrise

First post in this gallery, I normally shoot birds. But getting up early to get the birds sometimes leads me to other interesting shots. This was taken in Chatham, Mass. at the beach by the lighthouse. The fisherman was trying for striped bass. I just like the looming clouds and his indecision on whether to cast or not.

A glorious morning, Doug. Wonderful colors. The angler is an important element in the picture. He anchors it. Without him it would be water and color and clouds, just floating in space. I do wish he could have waded out just a little farther, so that his shadow/reflection would be clear of the edge.

I used to photograph birds mostly. Getting up to catch the early bird, and seeing scenes such has this, I gradually transitioned to a landscape photographer. I still shoot birds too, but it's more of a diversion.

Really like the skies glow across the water Doug, and the single fishermen in silhouette makes the comp work very well. Dramatic sky, looks like a change of weather is coming..
Makes ya want want to be there
Well done :toast:
