Angle of incidence

Velvia isn't an emulsion I often use, but it seemed appropriate here.

Ebony 45SU
Nikkor M 300 f9.0
Velvia 50 Quickload
No filters

Does this transcend the pedestrian reflection idiom or fail ignominiously in the attempt?

Thanks.

Fabulous shot Leigh, I definitely put my vote in for "transcend"!!! The soft low light on this is great and the color of the river compliments the rest of the scene. I also like the implied sense of motion in the water.

Wonderful image, I like the warm yet soft lighting here. The glassy water still showing motion gives a unique feel to the scene. I think you succeeded.

Leigh,
I like this image a lot. I know that the far bank is probably level, but I would vote to rotate the image CCW to straighten it out here.
That is my only minor nit.

Wonderful image. Velvia was a good choice here - it does well with greens.

TRANSCENDS! Howzabout providing a little location/region info for contextual info.

Beautiful light and color, Leigh. Definitely not over-the-top saturation like we normally see with Velveeta, and the whole image carries a vibrancy and 'open' feeling (as opposed to clogged shadows deep in the BG). Well done.

I love your proper use of English ("Does this transcend...") over the standard "is this lame?"

Very pretty scene and nice reflections, needs a touch of CCW rotation and if possible a bit more space at right.

Location. This was taken in Ku-ring-gai National Park a couple of weeks ago on my first outing with the 45SU. This light lasted only briefly, and so did the relative stillness of the water. This is tidal water (McCarr's Creek) at full tide. A minute later the sun was out in earnest and the water was flowing rapidly! Time for breakfast.

Rotation. Checking vertical alignment between the trees and their reflections, there is a slight discrepancy, but not enough to straighten up the apparent slope on the far bank which was due to being shot on a slight angle -- a perfect assignment for rear swing if I had had the time...

Thanks all for the comments.

Beautiful, much more than a simple reflection shot. If you want to see those, just check out my portfolio.

Nice job here.

Not much to add to what's been said, but this is indeed a stunning shot. The light is really fine as well.
