Euphorbia
by Daniel & Loana
Third (out of four) shot of the succulentae series we started two weeks ago. This time an euphorbia; this is a paticular (almost 1:1) of a crested plant from our garden. Cristation or fascination is an abnormal development of an apical meristem characterized by indeterminate proliferative growth. A plant becomes crested when its apex develops laterally from a linear meristem rather than a single point. The plants take initially the form of a fan, then undulate, and end up resembling brains. Some cristation are real living sculptures, and are sought after by amateurs and collectors.
Thanks for looking; comments and suggestions appreciated. Larger version provided.

I like the study in textures and contrasts in this image. Those thorns really look sharp!

If you are OK with it, suggest cloning out the spikes touching the left side of the frame.
Your succulent series is getting better with each post. Great work.
Thanks again
