Beautiful egret display Ronnie, the plumes look so delicate and lacey and the setting it great. Sweet light too.

Awesome lighting Ronnie. It's the habitat that makes this image for me. I'm having a tough time coming up with new superlatives for every one of your posts.

Gorgeous! Wonderful warm light.

There is a rookery about an hour from where I live that I have visited with the intent of getting a displaying great egret. So far, haven't been able to see one in the clear. This really sets a standard for me to aspire to.

Outstanding photo Ronnie! I especially appreciate the bald cypress setting. I get so tired of seeing great egrets and great blue herons composed at the Venice, FL rookery, in those invasive/non native Brazilian Pepper Trees!

Best,
Don

Ronnie,

You commented on my Matthews River photos. I visited you portfolio and with over 500,000 views I think your compliment is worthy.

However, this avian photo makes mine look like crud. This is an exceptional effort. If you do switch from avian to earth, sea, sky you'll probably get another half-million hits.

ON your featured photo the dark back ground contrasts remarkably with the white of the displayed feathers.

The darker green in the lower left quadrant adds balance to the green on the bird's head.

And I'm surprised a flash was not part of this. Great lighting, composition and processing.

Thanks for commenting on my shot on the Matthews. I could make some bad statements about my effort but yours is, well heck, it is PHOTO of the MONTH.

You were one of the first photographers that caught my attention when I joined NP. I've always admired your images and have found them to be a source of inspiration. This post is a good example why. The perfect lighting and composition conveys a sense of the spirit of the GE and of the southern forest ecosystem. Truly exceptional!:toast:

Best wishes,
Jamie
