Hopefully your not tired of Dahlia's. This reminds me of a "Sunburst" thus the title with the streaked reds. I am another NIK newby and I am loving their whole package. Processed in LR with NIK dfine, Viveza, Color Effects Pro and Sharpener Pro.

canon 7D
canon 100mm macro f2.8 IS USM, live mode and manual focus
F/4.0 +0.5 1/1000 ISO 100
tripod, macro support ring, cable release, black mat board

Craig,

This is very striking. I especially like the point of view you took but also the strong light on the bloom. If I were to change anything, I think I'd like a little more dof - maybe. Beautiful image as posted though. I love the bg of course. (smile)

Sunburst, indeed. I think with a black bg, more dof would really make it rock. Good the way it is, too though. Very bold.

Sunburst - Great interpretation and apt Title, Craig  . The dark background really helps the Dahlia stand out. Grand

Craig: Explosively good. Nice use of the strong light to complement the movement and dynamics of the shot. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

Hi Craig,

Not tired of Dahlia's ... Certainly an eye-catching and almost mind-boggling capture, esp. the Larger View.

I too wish there were just a little more detail in this flaming ball, especially in the top half.

Craig:
I like this. Very well done and sure has a burst effect. Nice post processing. Don't know what NIK is but seems to produce good images.
