Another shot from my trip to Salisbury Beach Mass. I loved the high wave in this shot. CC Welcome. Thanks for looking!

WOW - this is fantastic Wendy, even better than your previous post. The reflected color is just awesome and perfect timing on the wave - great work.

Very nice, Wendy. Nice capture of the wave, nice colors, nice feel and excellent comp. Having the sun in this really sets it off. Good work, again.

I really like the orange reflection off the water Wendy. Nice wave action as well.

Great colors, and great timing too. I like how the high point of the wave counterbalances the sun a bit in the composition. It could easily feel to "right side heavy" otherwise.

Beautiful wave. I like the textures and the colors coming off the water. Sun as a focal point adds that bit of extra. Nice job Wendy.

Some wonderful color here Wendy. Masterful job of avoiding lens flare while shooting into the sun too!

Wow, Wendy this is fantastic. I'm an old surfer and this captures the essence, movement, beauty and feeling of a wave so well. Very, very powerful yet elegant.

Can you share a little more about the actual scene. Were these waves very large? Were you far back using a longer focal length or closer up? It almost looks like you were on a raised bluff/sand burm looking down a bit. This really draws the viewer in.
Verry cool!!! :toast:

This is nice. Contrasting colors in the water are really neat. You really got a great bunch of pictures from here.

The wave is so well depicted here. When combined with the color palette it has tremendous impact. A simple and powerful image that I am enjoying a lot.

Wendy, I love the way you caught it at it's peak moment right before it curls over.

Thanks everyone for the comments!
Derek: The waves were pretty big but not too large. This was taking at Salisbury Beach State Reservation in Salisbury Mass. I was up on a small incline closer to the water. There was a little sand in front of me. I was using a 24-105 mm lens and shot this at 60mm.

The near horizontal crest of the wave fits very nicely into the "layered" composition. The colors are exquisite and complement each other perfectly.

Wendy,

Wow, another beautiful seascape. I just love the color being picked up in the foreground surf. The timing and capture of the wave is perfect and I like the proportion given to the sky and rising? sun (east coast.) Wonderful image Wendy.

Beautiful colors, Wendy. I really like the combination of green and orange. I also like your balanced composition, with the sun in the perfect position to balance the slightly higher wave on the left is excellent. Great shot!

Weird--somehow i missed this in my first pass through the gallery...and i missed the one at ESS too!
Anyhow, i like this one better than the ESS one, the colors here are just stunning, and the bright exposure really suits the mood.
Terrific! :toast:

Like Stan, I missed this on my first look at this week's challenge. From the comments posted, it seems this image must have first been posted to the ESS Gallery??? Anyways, quite an amazing sunrise image. I like it much better than the one posted in ESS. The colors here are so beautiful and the speed you used gives a really nice look to the water and waves.
