Hello All,
this bird was taken at Padre Island NS, Tx this summer.
This is my first BIF which seems to me acceptable for the level of NPN.

40D 100-400 @400
f8,0 1/2000
-0,33
ISO 400
HH

Thanks for viewing.
C&C are always very welcome.

A respectable flight shot. Good sharpness; sufficient depth of field, proper exposure. Nice wing position.

Monica, I agree, this is a nice flight shot. The bird's head and eye are just a tad shy of tack sharp, but for a smallish bird that is really not a nit. I like the angle and the light on the face. Nice DOF too. Well done.

Really nice catch for a tough, small bird that is difficult to get.
Nice wing position, clean BG (not always a plus, of course) and good eye.

Lovely BIF shot, Monica. I particularly like that the bird is coming towards us and that the wings are so well positioned to reveal so much of the bird. Nice detail and you even managed to obtain a catchlight in the eye! This looks to me like a tough shot to obtain. :toast: :toast:

Wonderful pose and light. It's a fab BIF as far as I am concerned. If I may suggest to carry out some noise reduction to the sky (a big crop could be the culprit) and retouch the diagonal smudge under the left wing. Excellent work nevertheless.

Very Nice Monica. You've got the bird coming toward you slightly, good catchlight in the eye, and good feather detail and sharpness. I'm not crazy about the composition. In my opinion, you could crop from the top and add to the bottom so he's not so centered horizonatally. Move him slightly up in the comp. Very worthy of posting here. Great job Monica.

Well biffed!
I particularly like the continuous curving line from the tip of the bill to the tail, and the well lit head.

Hi Monica,
Nice shot of what appears to be a rather difficult bird to capture in flight. Details look very acceptable. A little background noise in the larger image but I know some people don't like to remove noise from just the background. That's a personal decision that I don't necessarily agree with but no big deal.

Awesome flight shot, Monica. Fast focus is not the hallmark of the 40D (from my own experience); so the fact you captured a flight shot this sharp is very commendable. Nicely done.
