YCNH juvie

I've had a five year dry spell on this particular juvie. I was at Bayou Sauvage NWR yesterday, and after about given up, I spotted this one along the road. Shot a couple dozen frames, and I liked this one as it was one of few the bird wasn't looking at me. Cloned out a couple of distractions. I realize the BG is a bit cluttered, but it was natural habitat.

I have no issues with the background. Nice detail in the bird. Pleasing natural understated colors as well.

Bill, I like the pensive look of the bird and the BG reeds fanning out across the frame look nice IMO. Well done.

Bill, I like the fine detail and the comp. The bg greens add enough color to showcase the bird. Looks like a gangly teenager with that tall slim body.

Habitat is OK with me. I don't even mind the birid looking away as much as I know it's busy hunting or what not. It's a fine comp and razor sharp. Congrats!

I don't mind the bg a bit, bill. I like the way the grasses and the bird are leaning in the same direction. :toast:

Nice one Bill - like the contrast between the streaking on the bird and the grass in the background
