Weeping Lotus
by Patricia Brundage
This was the last day of this bloom's life and petals began falling one at a time after this shot was taken. When they first bloom there is more color, form and texture to the petals. The petals were floppy with faded color and seemed to be weeping. Think this is my favorite so far this season of this pink lotus. Taken with Canon 7D, using 100-400 IS lens, handheld.

17 commentsThe perspective is nice, showing the drooping petals.
This lotus will live on forever in your work here.

Gorgeous! No wonder this is your fav. Really like the center and how the anthers radiates out from the lotus pod. Lotus flowers are just so beautiful and yet delicate; a reminder of fragility and impermanence.
