Long-billed Curlew
by Nate Chappell
This is from last summer at Malheur NWR in Eastern Oregon. This species is always one of my favorites to photograph there. This bird had just done a display flight and landed. Image cropped to about 60% of FF, nr to bg. We are back home with the new addition to the family, a healthy and beautiful baby girl.

Very nice shot!
I really like this bird image, too. The long grass is a beautiful background.
Congratulations on your healthy and beautiful little girl, I'm sure she will steal her daddy's heart or has already.
I like the setting that you have here for your curlew and the raised wings. Nice light in the eye too
Congrats on the new addition!
I like how you captured the moment in the gorgeous green field. Agree, that to me too, that grass is a little bit of an eye puller, but overall it is not all that big a deal. Glad you left it there without getting amorous with a thing called the clone tool
BTW, huge congrats on the little girl. You will be a busy dad!

Sweet pose and I like the grasses.
I really like the wings position and the inclusion of habitat too. Very nice!
Wonderful shot too. I like the setting here a lot.
