Was out chasing dragonfly in HK Park when it started to pour. Took shelter at the indoor conservatory and this repeating cascading petals caught my attention.

D90 300mmF4 iso200 1.3sec F32 tripod cable release. Thanks for looking and C&C appreciated.

Gary, what a great abstract with wonderful colors. Looks like you and your camera are in great shape after your accident the other day with the tripod and camera. All is well.
The left side of this image is just plain awesome; my first reaction was to suggest cropping from the right and I don't think that's the answer.
To answer your question on Spring. No diffuser; no CPL. My goal these days is to practice handholding my 70-200mm lens and I'm using it with a Canon 500D CU lens. That causes some Chroma noise and I think adding a CPL might cause added problems, but what the hey, I'll try it. You never know.
Cheers,

Carol

Beautiful Gary. Great details and colors. The tip of the stamen or whatever it is peeking out near the bottom is slightly distracting IMO, but that's a very minor nit. Overall an outstanding image.

I really like the rim lighting on the petals. That seems to take this to another dimension. Nice work.

Cool plant and great handling of the colors and your exposure. I might be tempted to shave a little off the right side to see what a tighter comp looks like. :toast:
