Spring

First, thanks all for the comments on Summer.
I've worked and re-worked with that image and have yet to find a solution, but keep looking for new approaches.
Fortunately when I was shooting yesterday thanks to all of your comments about the ULC, I removed the blinders from my eyes or my lens (not sure which )
Wayne, I'm not sure why but your comment really game me the impetus to work on this image as a Bougainvillea that represents Spring.
I think the background is almost as important as the flower itself as it draws the eye upwards with the idea that Hope springs eternal during the Spring. Therefore, I didn't want to remove it completely; I only wanted to tone down the extraordinarily bright spots. I hope you find the background integral to the image and not a distraction.

Love the bg Carol. The bloom just seems to be floating there. Unique perspective, very strong composition and outstanding processing. I like the image very much - also the mood of it.

Very nice indeed Carol, love the color of the bloom, and it sits very well against the BG. Beautiful work.

Carol: This one is excellent. We have a bougainvillea that has yet to bloom this year. It got hammered by our abnormally cold winter but seems to be recovering. You're challenging me to not overlook it when it flowers. Top notch shot. >=))>

Carol:
Like the concept and capture of this bougainvillea. The reflected light from the right petal looks a bit strong; did you use a CPL or a diffuser?

Wonderfully airy effect, Carol ! Love the relationship between the flower and the bg which, though full of incident, enhances the portrait perfectly.

Carol, the background that gradates from dark to light really complements these delicate petals. They seem to speak of the freshness of new life when posed against it.
