Lotus position

This Flangetail (Ictinogomphus pertinax ) in the 'obelisk' position, was balanced percariosly on the edge of the lotus pod. It managed to stay in position despite the lotus pod swaying in the breeze.

D90 300mmF4 1/640 sec F5.6 iso200 tripod cable release. Thanks for looking and C&C appreciated.

Lovely, Gary. I'm a sucker for a play on words, so your title caught me instanter. Anyway, the background and subject are well displayed. A step wider on the focal opening might have gotten all the back wing in focus, but definitely not a deal breaker. The pose and color make this one a definite keeper. :toast:

Nice pose !
Liked the subtle circular blotches in the BG. Only wish for tad more DOF to bring the tail sharp.

Great title, pose and image, Gary. Generally I'm not too fond of centered photo subjects but this works very well.

NIce one Gary, I love that pose. I too wish for just a touch more dof to get the tail sharp, but great Image none the less.

Cool pose and perch, Gary. I wish the tip of the tail were in the plane of focus.
