Getting ready to head back to Alaska and came across this one from my last trip there. No exciting action or behavior but I like this one more and more as time goes on. Just a mother bear and her cub enjoying a quiet moment while waiting for the next school of salmon to arrive. C&C are always very much appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Thanks Jim! This was shot at the Brooks River in Katmai NP where the bears are extremely approachable. The Grizzly Bears at a few select areas in Katmai and Lake Clark NP are known for being very tolerant of people and so long as you obey the NP service rules there have never been any problems. In addition, the Brooks Camp area has three viewing platforms from which to observe all the action. This one was taken next to the floating bridge near camp.

Hi Joe, I like how the two are framed by that lush green grass. Because of the habitat the center placement also works in this case.I like the inclusion of the water at the bottom, which provides more habitat context, but wish some more of it were visible. Good luck on your upcoming Alaska trip!
