Paddling up the creek in kayak, came upon a few of these Red headed Woodpeckers feeding on a dead tree.

I like the pose and overall look of this but wish we could see more detail in the dark plumage. Not sure if its the lighting or some motion blur from the kayak at that focal length.

A fine look at this bird with a nice perch leading the eye

I like the pose and the head angle Ken and how well we can see the eye. The image seems a bit dark on my monitor, perhaps increasing the exposure globally would help with that and show more details in the darks?

I like the stoic pose here, Ken. Good rich colors set it off, although I might sharpen it a bit more if it were mine.

This looks great to me Ken, I can see detail in the reds, blacks and whites which is tough. Really nice image.

Nice, Ken. The exposure looks excellent and it's a great pose. Maybe a touch tight for my taste.
