This is a repost, I think, from February of last year when I met Mia and Adrian Burke for a morning shoot at Ft Desoto. We shot loads of frames of this one in a tidal pool around 8 AM. Larger image provided.

Little blue herons are not my favorite to photograph because they don't do much - just stand around a lot or wade slowly. You sure got your money's worth out of this one. Great reflection!

Really nice job on comp. Lighting looks good too. Only suggestion would be to clone out your dust spots about 30 degree from the right of the bird's head.

I'll echo what the others said. You got more out of a little blue than I ever did.

Bill,

Just seeing this made me smile. We had a lot of fun with this little blue and it was great to have met you that day. You were a real trooper carrying your gear all over the place with Adrian and I.

Love the pose, colors, details & sharpness. I also like the comp, it works very well.

I really like the pose of the bird - reminds me of those plastic novelty "drinking" birds.

Blue hues are also quite pleasing with just a hint of color in the neck

Excellent Bill. Love the reflection and the angle of the bird as it searches for prey.
