This was a little off the trail but well worth the effort. The greens really drew me into this scene. Taken March 2010.

Hello Dean,
this one has a nice composition, the natural scene is really beautiful in this area : ) The exposition time gives a pretty motion to the water. Splendid moment and location, well!!

I really like this--it looks very deep in the forest--very primordial. Good stuff!

This is one of those instances where you think, "man if only those logs weren't there.." but then you figure out it still works!

Hi Dean,
The criss crossing logs are very nice. Overall, I like the composition and mood of the image, I would have preferred a slightly slower shutter speed here though. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice waterfall shot Dean. The logs really make this an interesting photograph.

Nice work, Dean. Excellent processing, as I see little details everywhere yet the scene still retains the dark feel of a forest.

You can really feel the density of the forest. Beautiful!

This is a very nice shot Dean. I like the composition and the "primordial" nature of the shot as well.
Michael makes a good point about a little longer shutter speed. Be careful though for I see many water shots with too much blur in the water in my opinion. I guess that what I'm saying is that if you need an asprin, don't take the whole bottle.

Thanks for everyones comments. I like to show the motion of the water when it's only part of a scene.

Somehow the logs contribute rather than detract from the shot. And like others have said, there's an element to this--primordial isn't a bad word--that really makes it attractive. I can't see how you could improve it.

A very real image Dean. I like the amount of processing and your choice of shutter speed. It smoothed out the water but not so much so it still looks like water.
