I was a little closer than I'd like to be to this critter shooting with a Nikon 50mm 1:1.8 mounted on a 36mm ext tube (it's about time I invested in a 200mm macro lens). Any help identifying this spider would be appreciated. This image was shot in the Savannah, GA area. I have seen a larger (leg span around 3") specimen in the Beaufort, SC area.
I am aware of the noise in the background and will make a before/after post in the digital imaging forum after I buy a permanent
version of Topaz Denoise later this month. Have any of you tried this plug in? A fully functional 30 day trial is available. My trial period just ran out and I won't be without it.

Very nice subject. As you said a good amount of noise is visible expecially in the BG.

A strange artifact is visible on the zigzag web in the foreground. Did you use a flash?

Good capture of this colorful spider. Like the effect on the web.
