Shot near Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, with a Canon 50D using 100mm macro lens; f2.8; center-weighted average metering. Minimal adjustments in PSE. I love Spring and the wild flowers it brings.

Strong composition Doris. With the over arching stem this reminds me more of a bell than a slipper. I also like the complementary color palette. Great bg separation as well and while I like that, I suppose I might have traded a little of it for more depth of field on the slipper itself. Even so, this is a good looking image for my tastes.

I like the colors and the background quite a bit, and the composition works well. Very nice capture of this unique flower.

Nice looking image Doris. Great color, detail, and BG. Shenandoah is one of my favorite places. I was just there today, albeit hiking with friends, not taking photos.

Another beauty Doris. One more stop might have brought the whole slipper into focus without affecting your bg. But there is excellent detail and texture revealled in this lovely offering. Good stuff!

Doris: Wonderful find and great color palette. I've never seen one of these in the wild so I'm jealous. A touch more DOF on the bloom would be better for me but this is exceptionally nice as is. Well done.>=))>

Very nice colours; as said some more DOF would help; maybe a less centered composition could be considered.
