Shrooms

Found this little group of mushrooms this evening while out watering. They are growing at the base of a small Crape myrtle. I placed a black foam board behind to darken the background. Also used a reflector to throw a bit more light on the mushrooms. All comments/suggestions much appreciated.

Nice Phillip, good job with the reflector. The larger version seems too lose a little sharpness. Very interesting subject I haven't seen anything like this around the Pacific NW. :toast:

Beautiful work Phillip. The black foam bg really makes these stand out. I think your reflector worked well also. I might like a little more dof, particularly on the one in the very back. The bg comes through just enough to seem natural but not intrude. It's a good looking image for my tastes.

Can't add a single suggestion Philip. I really like this image. The texture is great and the black foam board works very well. The drops of dew are such a plus :toast:

I love shooting mushrooms....good excuse to get down and dirty. This is a great arrangement but I would be tempted to lose the last one that's protruding below the others.

Very nice color and detail Philip, the mushrooms really stand out well against the dark BG. Nice find and capture.

I like the light....subtle on the stems and faint (uncluttered) for the b/g...which makes this special. Droplets are a sweet add'n.

Good use of black bg and reflector Philip.. The drops are a nice touch... I would just like to see a bit more definition in the stalks specially on the rigthmost and second from left ones..

Great capture Phillip getting this group all in focus. I like the water droplets, and the dark background hints of a forest setting :toast:

Great little cluster of mushrooms and very well done image of them. The black background works great, popping the mushrooms.

Simple and plenty sharp... I would play with lowering the blacks in the bG above the mushrooms a little more. Great use of the reflector also.

Wonderful find, Philip - they look like a chorus line in their finery ! Like the lighting very much - it really brings out the feel of the plants.
