Ducky

Just a very simple comp - I saw the bird heading for this clump of reeds which had a nice symmetry, so I just pointed the camera that way and waited till it swam into the frame. My mom loves this photo for some reason, would be interested in any comments, suggestions, etc.

The only thing I don't like about this is the title  I think you mom's right. What's not to like? Beautiful graphic composition and lovely tones.

I like it too. The comp definitely works, especially with that far left reed sort of arrowing the duck into the scene. Though it seems that is one very small duck or some mighty big reeds.

Nice simple comp. I have to echo what Tony said about the size of the duck. It is a shrimp.

Daniel,

this is so very simple, yet so very effective. The more times I've opened this, the more I like it. I didn't really consider the size of the duck (it's a coot btw) until the previous comments. Now I can't help but be puzzled by the off-setting scale... but it only make this more intriguing. I'd say nice catch!

That single really squiggly reflection of a reed really increases my enjoyment of this photo. As others have said, I can't get over my impression of a bizarre mismatch in scale.
