Family portrait

A small herd of wild horses of Camargue, taken in the marshes around Etang de Vaccares an evening at the beginning of July.

Your C&C are as always highly appreciated, thanks in advance for your time.

Techs: Eos 50D, Canon EF 70-300 IS USM, polarizer, tripod.

With all those grasses and bushes, I think the larger file looks much better than the one at standard size...

I almost passed this by; the thumbnail was not that promising. Well seen, Paolo! A very expressive image. :toast:

There is much to like in this composition, Paolo, especially the nicely saturated bands of horizontal color overlaid with the circular arrangement of white horses. Well seen! The two youngsters in the lower left are a strong accent. My small wish would have been for them to be a half step apart so there could be a bit of space between their necks and faces rather than an overlap. The head turn pose of the near center adult feels perfect.

Larger always looks better, so thanks for including it Paolo. And thanks for posting in this gallery as well. I quite like the circular arrangement of the horses, combined with the nice soft light this creates a very interesting image. I do echo Lon's comment about the foals and I also wish the head of the one on the upper left would have its head lifted above the other. The bush in the FG overlapping the foals is also a bit distracting. However, we all know how difficult it is to direct the animals where you want them to be, let alone the body pose they need to take on (even though these look like circus horses) . In other words: excellent work! :toast:

The horizontal lines and the circular position of the horses work very well.

Congrats
