Kansas is known as the "Wheat State", and gets its name from the Kansa Indians. Kansa means "south wind people".

Experimenting last month with slow exposures and strong Kansas south winds during wheat harvest. The way the wind rippled through sections of the field while leaving other parts motionless caught my eye. ISO 100, f/16, 1/20, polarizer

Interesting. Looks like something worth trying now that the wheat is just about ready.

Waving stalks of wheat are always pretty. I miss the big wheatfields from S Central Kansas, especially at harvest time. This is a very cool shot and well executed. Love the golden color.

I thought from the thumbnail that it was just a picture of wheat, but the image really depicts a windy day. Nice job, Rob.
